Cincinnati OH Bucket List

Hello, hello! 👋
Living near central O-H-I-O, we thought it was only right if we explored Cincinnati since its only a couple of hours away. Here are some of our favorite spots we think you should check out!

Being the food lover's that we are- Jungle Jim's is at the top of the list!

It is a huge international market that has almost anything you could be looking for. As mentioned on their website they have over 200,000 square feet of shopping space. So yeah, we classify that as huge.

Also since the store is huge, it only seemed necessary for them to have a huge block of cheese. Right?

They also have "jungle" themed animals in their parking lot area. We recommend taking this opportunity for a quick selfie.

And again, just to prove that it is really huge, see the map of the store below.

Okay enough about Jungle Jims.

The next stop on your list should be the Mushroom house.

Yeah. It's a house shaped like a mushroom.

The exact address is kind of hard to find, but here is a location close by

3319 Erie Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45208

It shouldn't be hard to miss.

And while it's not a place you will spend hours at, we think its pretty cool to stop and snap a few photos of.

Alrighty, stop three

Lets add a few hours to the day by going to the Cincinnati Zoo!

So I'm not going to go into a bunch of details about the zoo, because I'm sure most of us have been a time or two to our local ones, but I think its worth a mention.

Moving on- stop four

Coney Island Amusement Park

This amusement park is like traveling back in time to an old carnival.

It doesn't have new age, big, fancy, roller coasters that will blow you out of your seat. CI is more like a nice Sunday afternoon type of park.

It is also much cheaper. And they have better food. Think of fair food.

You have to get the deep fried Oreo's. It is a necessity.

Corn dogs are also great.

Here are some of the rides at CI, and they also provide a list on their website if you need more convincing.

mini coaster- too cute

Okie dokie, now lets get back to downtown Cincinnati

The next stop is the Cat Museum

If you're a cat person or a dog person, I think you will love this little stop either way.

It is definitely a quirky stop.

As you can probably guess its a museum filled with cats!

While this next destination isn't one particular place, we recommend strolling threw the neighborhood.

OTR or over the Rhine

This area has a lot of cool new restaurants and places to grab a quick snack (aka Holtmans donuts). Also there is a few murals to check out if you like art like we do.

For a nice outdoor stroll we recommend checking out the Smale Riverfront Park

It is simply beautiful.

Also don't miss the colorfully lit Ferris wheel!

Smale park is also home to the Roebling suspension bridge, it was built to mimic the Brooklyn Bridge. We think it is just as beautiful. Wait till it is illuminated at night for the most spectacular photo's.

Oh, and don't forget to make some time for Selfies!

And checkout the view of the city

Next up- American Sign Museum!

Again, the title of the location kind of gives it away. It is a museum with lots and lots of cool signs. If you're looking for a place to snap a new profile pic or insta photo, this place is it!

You could spend as little or as long as you want to at this stop. There is plenty to see.

Along with the sign Museum I recommend checking out the Cincinnati Art Museum

It has free admission! What more can you ask for?

Nearby Cincinnati stops below-

An honorable mention just outside of Cincinnati is the Ark Encounter

It's in Williamstown KY, but worth the drive.

It is a replica of Noah's Ark with every animal that was brought along.

You could spend multiple days here, there is a lot to see and read.

They also have a small zoo included with the ticket!

You need to see the ark in person to appreciate its massive size!

Next up, outside of Cincinnati, but worth the drive is the Loveland Castle!

The castle is actually named Chateau Laroche, it was built in the 1920's, and is open to the public to explore. They have a nice garden outside and it is a very beautiful place.

And that is our list of stops for Cincinnati and surrounding areas! Let us know if you get to stop at any of them, or if you think we should add more!

Thanks for reading! Safe travels

1st timer's in Sin City

Take me down to Sin city where the food is great, and the drinks are pretty. Or something like that.  As the title states, this post is all about our adventures in Las Vegas when we first visited! Where we stayed: Downtown Grand We thought the hotel was pretty nice. When I book our hotels, the biggest thing I try to look for is cleanliness. I refuse to stay somewhere that is not up to par.  This hotel was not only pretty well kept, but it also has some notable amenities. It is considered to be located in Downtown Vegas, very close to Fremont St. It IS NOT on the strip. Which we actually kind of enjoyed. This area has action filled nights within walking distance of the rooms, but it isn't the kind of place where you will be kept up all night due to all of the ruckus and commotion going on outside.  They have a restaurant that has amazing food. It is called Freedom Beat.  You have to get the deep fried twinkies.  They also have a rooftop swimming pool. We didn't have time to swi

A weekend in St Lou!

Tasty was on the road again.  We have a few friends who live in Jackson Missouri, and I have always been somewhat interested in seeing the arch in St Louis. Since we were going to visit with them, I decided we would make this a weekend trip! We took a 3 day trip to Missouri and fortunately got to stay a night in Saint Louis, it was quite an adventure. A big city always means big fun. We checked into the hotel and it was off to the arch we went! It was exhaustively hot outside that day, but still worth the trip. The arch was beautiful as we pictured it. Our next stop was the turtle park . Yes... you read correctly... TURTLE PARK. It was a large area of nothing but giant turtles for people to play on. It was quite fun. The funnest part for Seth was crawling in a giant turtle's mouth! Come on! How many people can say they've done that?  Their was also a group of turtle eggs! It was a very unique and park that was full of art. A
